This edition wraps up the dog days of summer artist series from our friends on Instagram (@dogsavethepeople), who feature dogs in their creative work.

As we wind down from summer and the days get shorter, remember there is still plenty of sun to take long dog walks. Like photographer Sam Farkas does with his dog, Emma, in the mountains (photo featured above).

We are back with Season 2 of our spinoff series, the Dog Walk Meditation podcast, featuring Annette McGivney as your guide. You may recall her name as a guest from her interview episode last year.

For the last 15 years, Annette has studied Zen Buddhism, but her true meditation practice is on daily hikes outside in nature with her dog, as she has done all her life. Annette is also an advocate for off-leash dog walks and she provides guidance on how to safely prepare to protect your dog, and wildlife, within an advisory message episode.

Sophie Wake (@sophiewake_artist) is a British and Royal Academy exhibiting artist who brings her interpretation of dogs in her latest painting series.

Sam Farkas

Sam Farkas (@samfarkasphotography) is a South Florida photographer who does a terrific job of capturing his dog Emma in nature – such as swimming in the ocean, cooling off with the sun out, or hiking in the woods. He has a portfolio site.

Jochen Gerner

Jochen Gerner (@jochengerner) is an artist based in France who usually works with lined paper styles to draw in his creative style. His upcoming book "Chiens" (or "Dogs" in English) will be released this September through Editions B42.

Sergey Gerasimenko

Sergey Gerasimenko (@ser.gera) is a Ukraine-based sculptor and painter who does original and colorful dog sculptures. We were especially drawn to his use of patterns. He also has a shop on Etsy.

Donnie O'Donnell

Donnie O'Donnell (@donnie_odonnell) is a Manchester-based artist whose abstract and near-pixelated-shapes form beautiful, simple images that capture the expressions of dogs that he finds himself drawn to. He has a shop on BigCartel.
