A podcast about how dogs make our lives better

The simple idea behind Dog Save The People is to look at how the selfless act of caring for a dog transforms who we are as people.

It helps us learn to love ourselves, connect with one another, and treat all living beings with empathy and respect.

We speak to everyday people about their dogs as well as experts in the field. This also includes scientists, authors, trainers, artists, and more.

DOG PARKOLOGY

Check out our latest spinoff series about the importance of dog parks as public space.

This narrative series explores the current dog park paradigm and suggest improvements. This will be accomplished by discovering how dog parks strengthen our relationships with our dogs, neighbors, and the natural world around us.

The series is narrated by Jenna Blum.

START WITH: ‘Think Outside The Fence’ prologue episode

Many dog parks today still resemble the traditional fenced-in spaces established almost 50 years ago. However, our understanding of how dogs think and the number of dogs in American households have grown considerably in the last few decades. Humans have also become increasingly isolated due to the usage of digital technologies and the decline of public spaces for real-life interactions. Through it all, dog parks remain one of the few enduring third places that attract all types of people to strengthen community ties and raise appreciation for the beauty of nature.

DOG WALK MEDITATION

We also have another spinoff series designed to calm your mind and connect with your dog during daily walks.

These meditations will help release distractions, reduce stress, and focus on being present with your dog. Personal time spent with a dog is key to strengthening your mutual connection. When you feel calm, your dog feels calm, too.

The latest Season 2 is guided by Annette McGivney.
Season 1 was guided by John Bartlett.

START WITH: ‘Calming Connection’ walking meditation

This walking meditation is designed to help us slow down from the rush of everyday life and the pressures that we feel around the clock. To step away from our anxieties of the past or of the future, and just focus on the here and now. To truly be in the moment in the same way our dogs live each day.
